We conduct research and promotion of Vetiver Grass. We raise awareness to all stakeholders on the benefits and characteristics of Vetiver. Based on scientific practical experience, we are convinced beyond any doubt that the use of Vetiver through Bio Engineering methods will provide innumerous benefits for the environment, ecosystem and the overall economy of Nepal.
As Nepal is set to graduate from a LDC nation by November 2026, we envision the nation to be prosperous, harmonious and competitive focusing on the SDGs with inclusive development Leaving No One Behind, with each constituent harnessing one’s fullest human potentials, thereby reaching socio-economic empowerment to the entire milieu – constituting a truly egalitarian society. Embracing the “Knowledge Regime” (KPO) for the Next-Gen, we envision to see Nepal:
- Graduating from primary reliance in agriculture into manufacturing and from manufacturing into services.
- Where technology, automation and an impetus on R&D assumes renewed focus.
- With its large under-harnessed human capital and the demographic dividend is leveraged to the fullest.
- In which ‘Social Security’ is in place to ensure no one is deprived of basic human needs.
- Ensuring the economy takes a major leap with accelerated domestic production and exports exceeding imports by far.
- With its per capita income in the mid-income group at par with the developed nations in the next 10 years where core competencies and all growth engines, together with the inherent strength in multi-dimensional sectors of our Diaspora and the subjective expertise of the redundant pool of our learned technocrats in the country are optimally harnessed.
Deeply empathizing with the longstanding agony of the farmers, Vetiver Nepal is endeavoring to protect their livelihood against archaic uncertainties compounded with the adverse impacts of climate change with a multi-utility ‘miracle grass’ called #Vetiver (Chrysopogon zizanioides) impacting all 17 SDGs which has been applied and scientifically tested in more than 50 countries, including in neighboring India and China with many decades of observation.
Vetiver is intercropped with multiple species on the principles of permaculture (sustainable agriculture) which ensures an unprecedented and unparalleled bonanza of revenue stream for the farming fraternity, along with the added value to the Eco-system conserving soil and water in their farms, improving fertility, providing nitrogen in the soil and accruing a host of benefits culminating in absolute sustainable agriculture.
In addition, Vetiver Nepal seeks to accelerate multiple applications of this grass for the nation in an overwhelming dispensation in areas such as: Disaster Mitigation; Ecosystem Restoration; Wasteland Reclamation; Phyto-Remediation for neutralization of Landfills, Leachates & Wastewater; Mines; Bio-Engineering; Water Harvesting; Poverty Alleviation; Vermicomposting; Renewable Energy and a host of other utilities .
Vetiver Nepal firmly believes that all forms of socio-economic sustainability for the nation, namely: food, energy, climate, employment, economy, et al, are duly ensured and met by #Vetiver farming thereby ensuring to meet the emerging national requirement and colossal export potentials, leading to a much-needed green economic revolution.
